More than 250 thousand Russians took part in the competition for students and young scientists called Ticket to the Arctic. Among the winners is Maria Galimova, a student of the SUAI Department of System Analysis and Logistics
Ticket to the Arctic is a multi—format competition for students and young scientists, which is being held for the second year in a row by ANCO Clean Arctic with grant support from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project "Popularization of Science and Technology".
The project is aimed at attracting young people to the field of scientific research. It tells about the priority areas of Russian science and promising industries for the development of the Arctic. Maria Galimova, a student of the Department of System Analysis and Logistics, became the winner in the special nomination "Clean Arctic". She solved the industrial business case for the "Mining and processing of minerals" thematic track from the company "Phosargo". The winner of the nomination will go on an expedition to the Kola Peninsula.
The main task of the business case was to identify the main and additional ways to involve nepheline concentrate, a valuable source of aluminum, sodium and potassium, into the country's economy. When solving the case, the student presented five possible solutions, including the improvement of technological processes, as well as the development of scientific research in the field of research of nepheline concentrate and its possible ways of application.
