On October 16, Julia Makarova, Head of the International Cooperation Department of SUAI, took part in the opening and strategic discussion of the Forum dedicated to the modernization of higher education in the Russian Federation
The event welcomed more than 1,000 participants from the BRICS countries. Among them were rectors of leading specialized universities of Belarus, Brazil, India, Iran, China, South Africa and other countries. Among the participants there also were heads of federal ministries and departments in charge of the mineral resources complex and the education system and science in the BRICS countries, representatives of leading research centers, and heads of multinational companies.
The experts discussed topical issues related to the development of the mineral resources and fuel and energy sectors, as well as higher education systems and the training of highly qualified specialists. Panel discussions were devoted to the modernization of higher education in the Russian Federation and the experience of a pilot project to improve training for various sectors of the domestic economy. The Forum was held on the eve of the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan.
