SUAI has created a prototype of an emergency recorder for small aircraft. Its software allows uninterrupted recording of flight data.
The emergency data recorder, which was developed by second-year students of SUAI, is an electronic device for recording and storing flight information. The data is saved to a flash drive — a microSD card in .txt and .csv formats. The waterproof case ensures the tightness of the system, and the small size allows the device to be used for small aircraft. The existing analogues of the on-board registration device are not intended for this category of aircraft.
— The test sample of the device is made of PLA plastic, which makes the prototype lightweight and airtight. The on-board registration device is fixed inside the body of the aircraft using screws through the two holes provided for this purpose on the body. The case ensures the tightness of the internal components, and the electronics ensure the fixation of the sent information. The device’s software allows uninterrupted recording of flight data,» said Evgeny Komolov, one of the authors of the project, a second—year student in Motion Control Systems and Navigation
