24 июля Neural network will help prevent cardiac arrhythmia

A SUAI student has developed a method for analyzing cardiac signals based on their comparison with the rhythm of a healthy heart

Olga Lifanova, a student at the SUAI Institute of Radio Engineering and Information Communication Technologies, has proposed a new way to monitor human cardiac activity. Her project on Multiscale Analysis of Cardiac Signals and Their Recognition Through a Neural Network is aimed at comparing the actual cardiac signal (read from a smartwatch or Holter monitor) with indicators of a healthy heart. The result of this study is estimated as a percentage, where 100% indicate the normal functioning of the patient’s heart.

This method is aimed at early detection of arrhythmias. The advantages of using it are simplicity and accessibility for ordinary users, the absence of high technical requirements for monitoring and, at the same time, the ability to combine it with any existing cardiac research technologies.
