5 сентября An article about a research by SUAI scientists published in the world’s leading scientific journal.

The article is devoted to a comprehensive experimental study of the spectroscopic characteristics of a multisectoral plate of synthetic HPHT diamond with nitrogen vanishing NV color centers.

The presence of two types of superluminescence (SL) under pulsed laser pumping at a wavelength of 532 nm has been shown for the first time. Pulsed laser generation was obtained using one of these types of superluminescence.

The studied high-quality large synthetic diamonds were grown using a unique technology at extremely high pressure and high temperature (HPHT technology: HighPressureHighTemperature) at NPC Almaz (Sestroretsk). The radiation centers in such diamonds — the NV coloring centers, are formed after they are irradiated with an electron beam and high—temperature annealing at VELMAN LLC (Novosibirsk).

SUAI has developed an experimental bench and methods for measuring the temporal and spectral characteristics of the radiation of these diamonds in order to understand the prospects for their use as effective radiation sources. The research is conducted jointly with partners from industrial enterprises and other universities, such as NPK Almaz, VELMAN LLC, St. Petersburg Mining University and Tomsk State University.
