Anatoly Arkadyevich Ovodenko, President of St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI), rector of the University from 1999 to 2014, died on the 6th of December at the age of 79
Anatoly Arkadyevich Ovodenko, President of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, rector of the University from 1999 to 2014, head of the UNESCO Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, laureate of the prizes of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, Knight of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III and IV degrees, Knight of the Order of Alexander Nevsky and Order of Honor, Honored Scientist of St. Petersburg, retired colonel, died today at the age of 79.
Under the leadership of Anatoly Arkadyevich, the faculties of Economics, Management and the Faculty of Law were established at SUAI, new training areas were opened, and a modern university development concept that meets the requirements of modern higher education was introduced.
Anatoly Arkadyevich Ovodenko was deeply respected by colleagues and students for his dedication to his profession, high moral qualities and his ability to inspire generations of young professionals. His scientific and administrative legacy will remain a solid foundation for the university’s further development.
