Dmitry Sharonov, a student of the SUAI Institute of Information Technology and Programming won fifth place at the prestigious AIDAO International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis as part of the Law of Large Bananas team.
For this success, the team was awarded a prize of 150,000 rubles. The intellectual competition was organized by Yandex Education and the HSE Faculty of Computer Science.
The Olympiad, which was held entirely in English for students from all over the world, this year was dedicated to an urgent task in the field of computer vision. The participants had to develop an algorithm for the Yandex Taxi service, capable of detecting static obstacles in the way of a car using three-dimensional images.
For the successful result, Dmitry Sharonov received an invitation to an offline meetup with the organizers and representatives of the IT industry.
