On behalf of SUAI, the guests were welcomed by the acting rector Nikolai Maiorov. Representatives of SUAI Institutes and the International Cooperation Department also took part in the meeting.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the educational and scientific fields. Special attention was paid to possible topics for joint publications and scientific research, as well as joint grant applications within the framework of Russian‑Chinese competitions. Nikolai Maiorov noted the importance of developing partnerships with leading Chinese universities:
— This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sino‑Russian partnership and strategic cooperation, and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good‑Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation. Cooperation with Jilin University opens up new opportunities for SUAI in implementing international educational and scientific initiatives. We are interested in expanding academic mobility and creating joint projects that will allow our students and faculty to gain valuable international experience and contribute to the development of cutting‑edge technologies, Nikolai Maiorov concluded.
Following the meeting, further steps have been outlined to work out specific areas of cooperation.
