On October 5, representatives of Shanghai Polytechnic University visited St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.
The cooperation that began between the universities in September 2014 has developed into a close partnership. Since 2016, Yulia Antokhina, Rector of SUAI, has been a member of the Supervisory Board of SSPU. A special place in the joint work is occupied by the Global Partnership Week, which has been held by SSPU for many years. SUAI has been a constant participant in this large-scale event since 2016.
SUAI delegations have repeatedly traveled to Shanghai to represent the university on the international stage, to talk about its achievements, as well as to get acquainted with the work of laboratories, research centers and departments of the Chinese partner. Return visits have also become a good tradition: representatives of the SSPU came to St. Petersburg to study the educational and scientific programs of our University. Student exchange was also established: SUAI students studied at the summer schools of SSPU, and teachers from St. Petersburg gave lectures to students of Shanghai Polytechnic University.
— Our university has been cooperating with Shanghai Polytechnic University for more than 10 years. Today we will conduct an excursion for our Chinese colleagues, where we will show our laboratories and the oldest building of SUAI, which is a unique architectural monument of the XVIII century. The presentation of our laboratories and projects will allow us to discuss in detail the development of cooperation,» said Valery Matyash, Vice Rector for Educational Activities at SUAI.
The focus of this meeting was placed on the development of international cooperation at the postgraduate level. Dr Huaqing Xie, President of Shanghai Polytechnic University, noted that in the future, universities will implement joint research programs, as well as discuss the opening of a joint mirror laboratory. In addition, SSPU teachers have been invited to participate in SUAI international conferences online, which will expand the geography of participants, strengthen scientific ties between universities and open up new opportunities for joint research.
